Objetivo General
Consolidar su capacidad institucional en el nivel regional, a través de procesos participativos, para la generación, utilización, transmisión y socialización de conocimientos dirigidos a la conservación y al fortalecimiento de los sistemas naturales y culturales de la región, y al mejoramiento del bienestar material y espiritual de la población del pacífico colombiano.
General Objective
Consolidate our institutional capacity at the regional level, through process of participation for generation, utilization, transmission and sharing of knowledge aimed at preserving and strengthening of natural and cultural systems of the region, bettering material and spiritual wealth of the population in the Colombian Pacific.- Desarrollar y poner en marcha un tipo de investigación propia de la región del Pacífico colombiano, orientada al bienestar de la población y fundamentada en la integralidad de los aspectos naturales, sociales y culturales.
- Desarrollar e implementar los instrumentos y mecanismos que le permitan al IIAP posicionarse como impulsor de la capacidad de investigación ambiental en la región.
- Desarrollar e implementar un proceso de sistematización, difusión y socialización de la información relevante para la toma de decisiones sobre el medio ambiente de la región y sobre los procesos que inciden en él.
- Definir un marco de relaciones nacionales e internacionales que permitan el fortalecimiento de tipo de investigación que adelanta el IIAP, y participar activamente en la toma de decisiones relacionadas con su visión, misión y objetivos.
- Definir y poner en marcha los mecanismos y procedimientos que garanticen la participación comunitaria en la toma de desiciones, respetando los contextos culturales y sociales propios de los diferentes actores del IIAP, así como las relaciones entre éstos.
- Crear condiciones, estrategias y mecanismos para garantizar a largo plazo la sostenibilidad financiera del Instituto.
Specific Objectives
- Develop and put into actions a proper type of research in the region of the Colombian pacific, leading to the wealth of the population and based on the integrity of natural, social and cultural aspects.
- Develop and implement instruments and mechanism that allows the IIAP to position as a conductor of Environmental Research Capacity in the region.
- Develop and implement a systematization process, diffusion of relevant information for decision- making on environment in the region and processes that falls upon it.
- Define a framework of national and international relationship that allows strengthening research being implemented by the IIAP, and to actively participate in the decision - making related to the objectives, mission and vision of the institute.
- Define and implement mechanisms and procedures that guarantee the community participation in the decision making, respecting cultural, social context and the different actors of the IIAP, as well as the relation among them.
- Create conditions, strategies and mechanisms to ensure long time financial sustainability of the institute.
